2019 Open Day
It’s our open day on Saturday 18th May 2019, when we’ll be offering a range of free taster sessions in sailing, stand-up paddle-boarding and powerboating. There will also be sailing demonstrations, boat displays and information about the different boats sailed at the club.
All members and non-members are welcome – tell your friends! You can find out about the sailing courses that take place during the year and how to join the sailing club. Discounts will be offered for people who sign up on the day for courses and membership.
The open day is a great day out for people of all ages. Food and drink will be available and parking is free. It is part of a national campaign to get more people out on the water and experiencing the joy of sailing. “Push the Boat Out” is run by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) to encourage participation in sailing and windsurfing and gives people the opportunity to try sailing for free.
Buoyancy aids for adults and children will be provided but visitors are advised to wear waterproofs and bring a change of clothing and a towel, just in case! Due site rules, no dogs are allowed on the site. There is a minimum age of eight for the paddleboard and powerboats sessions, and children under eight years of age may sail only if they fit into the buoyancy aids provided.
No previous experience is necessary, and the event takes place at Pitsford Reservoir - near Brixworth Country Park, Northampton NN6 9DG from 10.00am – 6.00pm.08/05/2019 13:35:48
