A busy couple of weekends for the club!

On the weekend of the 18-19th April 63 RS Feva’s from across the country came to the Club to take part in the RS Feva Grand Prix. There were 6 races held over the weekend with a blustery 18-20 knots of wind on Saturday to a very different 8-10 knots on Sunday. We were faced with beautiful sunshine and exciting but manageable winds all day on Saturday which all the sailors enjoyed and made for some exciting racing. The racing on Sunday was close with tricky light conditions with Jack Lewis and Lucas Marshall of Draycote Water SC winning the series overall by a small margin. Ian Bird and Jake Hardman of Hayling Island Sailing Club took 2nd place while Northampton Junior members Rory Odell and Josh Bonsey took 3rd place.

The following weekend 25-26th April was the turn of the RS Tera’s and Aero’s with their Start of Season Championships. There was a fantastic turnout with 34 RS Tera Pro’s, 53 RS Tera Sport’s and 12 RS Aero’s. Similar to the previous weekend with blustery conditions on the Saturday made for some exciting racing with 4 races complete and lighter conditions on Sunday. All 8 races were completed over the weekend with some close results. Well done to Mark Lucas for 3rd place RS Aero and also to junior member Abigail Larr who took part in her first RS Tera event.
